Dear Friends In Christ

Dear Friends In Christ,
I write from home, my heart aching for my brothers and sisters in Liberia. I know first hand of their deep suffering and waning hope. Hunger, disease, joblessness, illiteracy, and inadequate shelter and safety is widespread and endemic. Having served in places of active warfare, there is a perverse energy in the "righteousness" of battle, and the focus on combat survival. When the fighting ceases, there is only the ashes of destruction left, and the question, "What have we done to ourselves and humanity?"
The guilt and the poverty is paralyzing. It is almost impossible for people to move forward, or to imagine the promise for a better life. I ask you to join me in prayers for all Liberians; and all who are committed to "striving for justice and peace among all people, respecting the dignity of every human being.
Pray for the people of Liberia.
The Peace of Christ,
Michael
