July 4th
The Fourth of July is our country's birthday, and a day we gather with family and friends to celebrate relationship. A coincidence, there was a party here on Saturday night. Festa Junina celebrates the tradition of the fire Isabel built as a sign to Mary. It is celebrated with music, dance, and food. A wonderful festival! I then celebrated the 4th with a "Portuguese" pizza (nao cebola or onion) at Pizza Hut, while listening to The Rev. Al Green and Rod Stewart's American Song Book on my Ipod. It's not your daddy's Pizza Hut, but upscale with great food! I was thinking about July 4th's in the past: corn on the cob and lobster in Maine, county fairs in the Midwest, the tall ships in Boston in 1976, The Boston Pops, camping in Secret Harbor on Lake Tahoe and fishing in Wyoming and Montana. And now, yet an other very special 4th!
