Room At The Table

When I awakened today, my heart had changed a little. I am grateful for the leadership at the General Convention, the brave and articulate voices, the open and listening hearts, the willingness to change, the steady steps into the unknown, the courage, and the respect for those who are outside of agreement. The breadth and width of The Table is infinite, and there is a place for everyone. Just as when I was a boy on Thanksgiving Day, I have at times continued to worry that the table hadn't been made big enough, and there might not be enough room for everyone. I know today that space has been made for everyone, and I am grateful, and I feel a deep sense of relief. I admit that there were times in the past, when I held back and even walked away, afraid that there hadn't been a place set for me. Yes, The Table has been extended as it was meant to be. There is a place for everyone.

Your thoughts wholly echo my own.

Thank you for having expressed them so simply and directly.
