Easter Sunday

Christ is risen! He is risen, indeed!

When in Jereusalem, I frequently visit Dominus Flevit, located half way down the slopes of The Mt. of Olives, commemorating where "The Lord Wept". Luke 19:41-44. As he left Bethphage, Jesus observed Jerusalem and mourned the destruction that was destined to happen. "Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to it! How often have I desired to gather your children together as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you were not willing." Luke 23:37. He loves us, and he weeps. The sorrow of destruction and the joy of nurturing and love dwelling side by side. (There is a beautiiful mosaic at Dominus Flevit commemorating this story which is also found in Matthew.)
