Stove Top Cooking
I've learned new ways of cooking this year. Not just new recipes, but how to cook on gas burners. Like many people, I don't have an oven. Having been the "Master of CA Roasting" for many years, I do miss roasted vegetables, fish and chicken. If you can't boil it, saute it, or steam it--I can't make it. Lots of pasta with vegetables and oatmeal with nuts and raisins every morning for a good start. I also have one of those great Italian stove top espresso pots that I use to have when I studied in Italy (now a very long while ago--but a great time in my life). Just today I thought of what would be great in my kitchen and fit on the small counter space. A Crock Pot. Haven't seen one here but I will try to find one, and if all else fails I will bring one back when I next visit the U.S. Great for hot weather cooking. Won't heat up the apartment that much. More new receipes.
